ePost Supports Learning And Innovation In Region Of Waterloo

Canada PostJust as schools are adapting to a digital future, Canada Post is undergoing a similar experience by evolving its products and services to fit the changing digital needs of Canadians. This is why it is launching the new epost platform, dubbed Canada’s digital mailbox, in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. To thank the community for participating, Canada Post has launched the epost School Program to help local schools win a SMART Board interactive whiteboard or a Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook for the classroom.

Subscribers of two or more bills on epost in the Region of Waterloo will be able to vote for local schools in the area. Each additional bill will earn the subscriber more votes. On October 12, the top three elementary schools and three secondary schools will each win a SMART Board. The runners-up—five elementary schools and five secondary schools—will each win a Dell Ultrabook.

“Kitchener-Waterloo has been one of our best markets in terms of epost delivery and usage, and as we launch the next evolution of the digital mailbox we wanted to give back to the community,” says Kerry Munro, Group President of the Digital Delivery Network at Canada Post. “As the son of teachers and as a parent myself, I know first-hand that access to technology can be a competitive advantage for students. In fact, Canada’s future in driving a digital economy starts with nurturing innovation among students and their families at a community level.”

A first in Canada, the new epost platform connects a user’s digital identity with his or her physical address, creating an authentication capability that allows more connections to local government and businesses.

“The City of Kitchener supports initiatives like epost that help residents save time, money and stay organized and help local businesses flourish,” says Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr.

“In Waterloo our residents place a high priority on the environment. This paperless billing is easy and convenient and a good environmental choice for our city and residents,” says Waterloo Mayor Brenda Halloran.

As Canada’s digital consumption increases, digital mail delivery is a priority for Canada Post. epost is a free digital mailbox that offers one place, one login, one password to manage household bills and essential documents. Fully integrated with all major banks, epost makes it easier than ever to consolidate and pay bills like cable, credit cards, utilities and more. Bank-grade security and a digital safety deposit box protect identity and sensitive information. Already, over 7.7 million Canadians have registered with epost to stay better organized and save time and money.

Students require digital tools as a foundation for learning and development in a competitive marketplace. With a legacy of contributing to the communities Canada Post has served over the last 249 years, the epost School Program is a natural fit.
