3D3 Solutions, a Vancouver-based developer of 3D scanning and visualization technologies, announces the release of KScan3D at Siggraph 2012 today. KScan3D is a Kinect-based 3D scanning software solution that provides consumers with the opportunity to capture quality 3D scans of real-world objects at an affordable price. 3D3 Solutions is demonstrating KScan3D for the first time at the Siggraph Exhibition in the Los Angeles Convention Center from August 7th through 9th, in booth 1114.
“KScan3D benefits from years of research and development on our professional line of 3D scanning products including the HDI 3D Scanner and FlexScan3D Software,” said Nick Koziupa, Product Manager. “The software combines our state-of-the-art technology with Microsoft’s phenomenally successful Kinect hardware to provide beginners, students, educators, and hobbyists with a fully featured, easy to use 3D scanning solution.”
With KScan3D, Kinect hardware, and a PC or Mac running Windows OS, users can capture 3D scans with a click of a button. Advanced algorithms quickly process the captured information and enable users to export finalized data in a variety of common file formats.
“We wanted to launch KScan3D at Siggraph as this is the place to find out the newest developments in the computer graphics industry,” said Thomas Tong, President of 3D3 Solutions. “With today’s release of KScan3D, our company now provides a full suite of 3D scanning solutions for all of our customers, from entry-level users to experienced industry professionals.
KScan3D is available today and can be purchased separately or as a bundled package with the Kinect for Windows hardware. A 30-day trial version of KScan3D is also available.
