The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is making its way to the Banff World Media Festival to celebrate the talents and successes of Canadian content producers and to share the work the CMF is doing as a key partner within the industry.
“The Banff World Media Festival is an important event for the Canadian media industry. The festival allows a terrific opportunity to share ideas and dialogue about major trends, challenges, and current issues the industry faces,” says Valerie Creighton, CMF President and CEO.
This annual event provides the CMF a unique platform to present, at the CMF Town Hall, results from the 2011-2012 fiscal year as well as highlights for the coming year including how it intends to measure the performance of digital media content. For those who are new to the industry, the CMF is presenting a funding workshop to learn more about the different CMF programs and how to apply for funding.
Valerie Creighton, on behalf of the partnership between CMF and Telefilm Canada, will present the concept that the two agencies are implementing to expand audiences and increase awareness of Canadian content in feature film, television and digital media across Canada and internationally.
The CMF will also have a booth featuring access to a new website it will introduce at the Festival. The new website will showcase a sample of great Canadian content available on various platforms.
The Canada Media Fund is one of the festival’s major partners and many of our team members will take an active part in sessions as panelists or experts.
