On September 20 -21, The Canadian Institute will be hosting the 2012 Forum on Privacy Law & Compliance at the One King West Hotel in Toronto. This event will be packed with top level executives from all over the country who will be sharing practical and in-depth strategies to help keep companies and organizations on-top of the latest privacy best practices.
The Privacy Commissioner offices from Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, and New Brunswick will take part in a regulator round-table, discussing the major concerns, priorities and directions of Canadian privacy offices.
Additionally, this two-day event will provide the necessary strategies and tools to address the following key concerns:
- How to deal effectively with the CRTC, the Privacy Commission of Canada and the Competition Bureau post-proclamation of the CASL
- How to protect one’s rights and securely outsource company and customer data to the cloud
- How to provide clear disclosure when collecting consumer information
- The boundaries associated with a company’s use of social media
- And much more!
There will also be two pre-forum workshop sessions on September 19 that will add value to the overall learning experience: “Developing and Promoting a Culture of Privacy within the Entire Organization” and an exclusive session tailored to the financial industry, “Compliant Cloud Computing for Financial Institutions”.
