I’ve finally managed to get our Canadian Videogame Awards red carpet and ceremony photos into a gallery here on Village Gamer. If you see a red carpet photo that is missing names, please add them in the comments. I hope you enjoy them – if you copy any to use elsewhere, please give credit. I hope to have our Fan Expo photos up soon.
I wish the actual ceremony photos were of a bit higher quality, but media is not seated near the stage and I don’t have a DSLR camera with a telephoto or wide angle lens. You’ll probably notice one or two presentation photos missing – that is probably due to the boom camera blocking the view.
Scott and I watched the TV premiere of the CVAs on CityTV over the weekend, and while we understand the constraints of time slots, we are of the opinion that the show really did not do the live event justice. It seemed disjointed and choppy, and so much was cut from the schedule. If the goal of the broadcast was to show off Canada’s interactive entertainment industry and have people want to attend the live show, then I’m not sure that the broadcast version of the gala will accomplish that feat, and it’s too bad, really, because the CVAs are right on the cusp of growing up and onward to a bigger and better event.
That said, many thanks to the show’s sponsors for taking part and providing support for the Canadian Videogame Awards:
