Christopher Lennertz Scores Final Installment of Mass Effect Series

BiowareAward winning composer Christopher Lennertz scored additional music for EA Bioware’s newly released Mass Effect 3, the third and final installment in the Mass Effect game series. Lennertz has worked previously with the Mass Effect series, Medal of Honor and Gun. His previous films include Horrible Bosses and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lennertz just completed scoring the film Think Like A Man, to be released this April.

Mass Effect 3 follows Commander Shepard in his (or her) mission to save the galaxy from a race of mechanical beings, the Reapers, and it’s a race against time before the Reapers destroy Earth and the galaxy, breaking the cycle that has continued for millions of years.

“It’s more about putting the player in the world rather than hitting specific actions of the player,” Lennertz stated when asked about the differences between scoring a film vs. video game. “You don’t have nearly as much dialogue to contend with, so you can really show off a little bit with the music and have it be a little bigger and bolder and have it tell some of the story where the dialogue in the movie would be doing it.”
