Poynt Platform Surpasses 11M Users And 2.1B Interactions

poyntPoynt Corporation  has announced that the Poynt Platform has surpassed the 11 million user milestone. In addition an aggregate of 2.1 billion interactions have been recorded by Poynt users globally. The increase in users and interactions has been a catalyst for the Company’s revenue growth. Over the past twelve month period, the Platform has experienced 158% growth in its user base. Poynt has surpassed 2.1 billion interactions, up from 1 billion interactions on March 11, 2011, representing a doubling of user activity in only eight months.

Throughout this growth, the Company has continued to update the Platform with new features that have been customer driven, such as the addition of information on local gas prices, local events and offers. These features are enhanced by the Company’s patented location-based technology and deep device integration.

Consumers using Poynt are typically in the purchase funnel – they have researched the goods, services and events they wish to consume and are at the inflection point of deciding where to make that transaction. The 2.1 billion interactions provides anecdotal insight into consumer behavior revealing some interesting characteristics of Poynt users. An infographic (PDF) provides some possible insight into how Poynt users, or consumers, are using the Platform.

“Access to behavioral data on this scale allows the Company to continue to innovate by providing relevant and contextual offers in-app to our users, as well as important information to advertisers,” said Andrew Osis, CEO, Poynt Corp. “As the Company grows its advertising base, our ability to understand purchase intent patterns can benefit the retailer, by driving foot traffic, as well as the consumer, by providing relevant and timely offers. In short, Poynt closes the gap between search and purchase.”
