Toronto – TransGaming, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Blake Lewin as President of TransGaming’s new GameTree.tv digital home division. The company is also establishing a dedicated office in Atlanta, Georgia, that will serve as headquarters for all GameTree.tv development. Blake Lewin was most recently the Vice President of Media & Entertainment at Turner Broadcasting and is renowned as the creator of GameTap, the first-of-its-kind broadband entertainment network. As President of TransGaming’s digital home division Blake will lead the design, development, and commercialization of GameTree.tv, a comprehensive on-demand games platform which will provide consumers with constant access to a broad range of video games through their connected consumer electronic devices.
GameTree.tv is a powerful on-demand digital distribution games platform available to consumers through their Intel CE Media Processor powered set-top box or consumer electronics device. The platform will provide consumers with the ability to instantly play a broad range of games from the comfort of their living rooms, while providing CE device manufacturers and cable/satellite partners with new revenue opportunities. The first set of Intel based CE platforms are expected to be available to consumers in the coming months with GameTree.tv being commercially deployed before the fall.
“GameTree.tv has many parallels with GameTap and, thus, as part of our commitment to building the best team at all levels we were committed to obtaining the right visionary to deliver the platform. Blake is an exceptionally talented individual with invaluable experience, expertise and passion, and he is a natural fit for what we are striving to achieve with GameTree.tv,” commented Vikas Gupta, CEO & President of TransGaming. “I am personally delighted to have Blake join the TransGaming team. Blake’s addition further strengthens TransGaming and I have no doubt he will act as a catalyst as we collectively work towards revolutionizing the delivery and global consumption of video games through the next generation of Internet connected consumer electronics.”
“Four years ago Turner utilized TransGaming to bring GameTap and Myst Online: URU Live to the Mac platform. The company’s technology was amazing and enabled us to move huge amounts of code over to the Mac even as we continued development on the PC,” stated Blake Lewin. “I knew then that TransGaming was a company to keep my eye on. When Vikas asked me to join their team to build GameTree.tv, I didn’t hesitate. He has built a first class company and is set to grow TransGaming from a technology startup into an interactive media powerhouse.”
TransGaming will be taking advantage of the exceptional talent pool in Atlanta as well as the variety of incentives offered by the State of Georgia for its GameTree.tv operations. The State has welcomed TransGaming graciously and is working closely with TransGaming to facilitate the launch of the company’s Atlanta operations.
