Banff World Media FestivalThe Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) came to a close today, culminating in four days of cutting-edge sessions, V.I.P. interviews, star-studded award ceremonies and a thriving business market, together with many of the world’s leaders from the evolving media landscape. The Festival took place in beautiful Banff from June 9-12th, and we have lots of pictures and video to share with you once we get back in the office to edit them.

The inaugural Company of Distinction program proved to be a great success, featuring executives, producers and talent from CBS Corp. throughout BANFF, including Keynotes, master classes and special achievement awards.

The famed Rockie Awards Gala had an especially entertaining flare this year as Entertainment Tonight Co-Anchor Rob Marciano and Emmy award-winning actor, comedian and “Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady took to the stage and ushered in a number of accolades, including:

  • Company of Distinction: CBS Corp.
  • Canadian Award of Distinction: Will Arnett

  • Sir Peter Ustinov Comedy Award: Craig Ferguson
  • Award of Innovation: VICE
  • Program of the Year: NCIS
  • Jury Grand Prize: Hatfields & McCoys, Sony/USA

BANFF also featured an extensive exploration into emerging platforms with its nextMEDIA “TV Everywhere” program.

“This has been a spectacular year, and we are proud to have provided our attendees with first class programming and entertainment throughout theBANFF,” said Ferne Cohen, Executive Director of the Banff World Media Festival. “This year’s success underlines BANFF as one of the most important yearly events in the media industry.”

BANFF provides participants attendees with unparalleled access to national and international industry insiders, to countless new business opportunities.
