BC Film + Media (BCFM), in partnership with the Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia (ABPBC) and the Canadian Media Production Association – BC Producers’ Branch (CMPA-BC), is pleased to announce Opening The Book On Film 3, which will take place on March 27, 2013 at VIFF’s Vancity Theatre, at the Vancouver International Film Centre in downtown Vancouver.
This special program is aimed at bringing together Publishers and Media Professionals for a Keynote talk by renowned American Futurist Robert Tercek, on The Future Of Books: On Screen And Beyond. Robert’s unique views on managing media and creative innovation are sought by organizations around the world. In his stimulating keynote, he examines the future of books and convergent media and the success of adaptations – from page to screen and beyond, including interactive media and games, giving us insight into what we can expect from our rapidly evolving media landscape in the future.
Publishing and Media professionals are invited to register for free tickets to attend his Keynote from 5-6pm at VIFF’s Vancity Theatre, followed by a networking reception from 6-7:30pm in the Vancity Atrium. The event is open to all, including Publishers, Literary Agents as well as Film, Television and Digital Media Professionals who are keen on learning more about the future of book adaptations, publishing and media convergence.
B2B MEETINGS AT OPENING THE BOOK ON FILM
A Call for Applications is also extended to Publishers, Literary Agents and Film, Television and Digital Media Professionals who wish to participate in the Opening The Book On Film 3 B2B Meetings to be held in the afternoon prior to the Keynote, from 1-5pm on March 27, at the Vancity Atrium.
These B2B Meetings are designed to enable Publishers/ Literary Agents to meet Film, Television and Digital Media professionals who are interested to develop book adaptations from BC published books or contracted works and for media professionals to request to meet BC Publishers/Literary Agents, in a series of 15-minute appointments.
Those who wish to participate in these meetings are invited to register their profiles by March 15, 2013.
