Vancouver Animation School a relatively new educational institution offering entry level and advanced programs for the animation, film and game industries, has received confirmation that the school has been for awards in the Best Concept and Best Community Impact categories of the 10th Annual Successful You Awards presented by Small Business British Columbia and the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
“This is an amazing honour to be selected to receive these very prestigious nominations in our very own hometown,” said Mario Pochat, animator and founder of the Vancouver Animation School. “It demonstrates the dramatic impact that our school is having in the local community, the nation and the entire country.”
The Best Concept award recognizes companies that have been in business in British Columbia for less than 24 months with less than 50 employees. The winner must demonstrate a strong business concept and be able to pitch their concept to a panel of judges. The Best Community Impact award honours companies that have demonstrated a positive impact in the community and have also made a positive impact by investing in the community.
“While we are a young educational facility, we are definitely already a strong proven concept,” Pochat said. “The growth in our enrolled students and the strength of our world-class faculty demonstrates the clear proven vision of our concept. We have forever changed the education of animation professionals in Vancouver by bringing the best professionals from all over the world to our school. Plus, the innovative technology model we have deployed makes these classes easily accessible to students all over the area.”
The voting for the awards ends on November 26 and the awards ceremony will take place in February 2013.
