Best Buy’s Tech It Away Program Aims To Recycle More Than 150,000 Pounds Of E-waste
Best Buy is teaming up with nine stores in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto to help collect and recycle the several pounds of electronic waste that are accumulated in Canadian homes each year. Local residents are encouraged to drop off their used or unwanted personal electronics for free and safe recycling at one of the participating stores for Best Buy’s Tech it Away event. Everyone who drops off electronics to be recycled at any of the participating store locations will be entered for a chance to win a $1,000 Best Buy gift card. One gift card is available to be won at each of the nine stores.
A variety of electronics will be accepted at the event, which runs on Saturday, May 26 from noon until 5 p.m. Accepted products include:
- TVs
- Computers
- Laptops
- Printers
- Cell Phones
- Batteries
- DVD players
Best Buy Tech it Away events will take place at the following stores:
Vancouver:
- Richmond – Landsdowne Centre, 5300 No. 3 Road
- Coquitlam – Pinetree Village, 1135 Pinetree Way
- Surrey – Central City, 10025 King George Hwy
Toronto:
