With consumerized handsets penetrating IT departments, enterprises are more than ever looking for ways to converge services between their enterprise communication systems and employees’ mobile devices. CounterPath has announced that its suite of SIP-based enterprise communication solutions, backed by several patents including a newly acquired U.S. Patent 8,165,576 for “Method and System for Extending Services to Cellular Devices”, enables enterprises to move services such as 4-digit extension dialing, ad hoc conferencing, call transfers and more, to mobile smartphones and tablets, arming the enterprise workforce with the tools they need on the devices they want to use.
