Door-To-Door Canvassers Not Sanctioned By Children’s Wish

Childrens Wish FoundationThe Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter has received several reports of door-to-door canvassers purporting to be collecting donations on behalf of the Foundation in different St. John’s neighbourhoods during the last two weeks.  The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada does not solicit funds through door-to-door initiatives.

On occasion, participants in a pledge-based fundraising event, such as Wishmaker Walk for Wishes, may ask friends and neighbours to pledge or sponsor their efforts, however, in those instances; the individual should have an event pledge form.

Members of the public are asked to report suspected fraudulent fundraising activities to the local police.  The public can also confirm the legitimacy of a fundraising event in support of Children’s Wish by contacting the Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter at (709) 739-9553.
