BEYBLADE Battle Tournaments Seek Out All Star Players Across Canada
Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises, Hasbro, Inc. and Toys”R”Us Canada are calling on all metal masters to battle their BEYBLADES for a chance to win exclusive access to the 2012 World BEYBLADE Championship. On Saturday, February 25th, 2012, all Toys”R”Us stores across Canada (excluding Express locations) will host in-store BEYBLADE battle tournaments. The winner from each store will be entered into a random draw to win one of three grand prizes, which include a pair of VIP Golden Tickets, airfare and accommodation to attend the World BEYBLADE Championship taking place Sunday, March 25th, 2012 at Corus Quay in Toronto.
In-store tournament spots are highly sought after and are limited to 32 participants per store. Pre-registration is available at all Toys”R”Us stores (excluding Express locations) beginning Friday, February 10th, 2012. Over 25 countries will come together to fight with fury during the 2012 World BEYBLADE Championship with the top players from each country competing for the coveted title of World’s Best BEYBLADER. The Championship is presented by Nelvana Enterprises, d-rights Inc., TOMY Company, Ltd. and Hasbro, Inc.
BEYBLADE is a modern battling tops system inspired by traditional Japanese battling tops called “bei-goma”. Since its relaunch in 2008, Hasbro and TOMY have sold over 120 million tops worldwide.
To support the upcoming championship, YTV will broadcast a back-to-back marathon of brand new episodes of the animated series BEYBLADE Metal Masters on Saturday, March 10 starting at 2 p.m. ET/PT on YTV.
