The City of Toronto is Open for Business at Dx3 Canada

Dx3 CanadaDx3 Canada, the first and only trade show dedicated to Digital Marketing, Digital Advertising and Digital Retail, is offering attendees the chance to get intimate with the City of Toronto’s Open Data Initiative. Access to the Open Data Initiative is free to attend with pre-registration to the Dx3 Canada Expo Floor.

The working session will be moderated by Wilf Dinnick, CEO, OpenFile and will include City of Toronto CIO Dave Wallace, along with Elaine Mah, Managing Director, Intel Canada, Nik Garkusha, Open Platforms Lead, Microsoft Canada, Kerry Munro, President, Digital Delivery Network, Canada Post and others.

They will explore questions such as: How can businesses benefit from the City’s Open Data Initiative? How can the public and private sectors work together for enhanced products and services using the City’s data?

Ron Tite, Chief Content Curator, commented, “The Open Data Initiative session is exactly what we want Dx3 Canada to accomplish. We want to help Canadian Business get digital and fortunately, the City of Toronto wants to help, too. They are incredibly supportive of the session and look forward to the outcomes as much as we do.”

Open data is a driving force of the global Open Government movement for greater citizen engagement, customer service, transparency, accountability and the sharing of knowledge and information leading to greater collaboration and innovation. We’re opening up, crowdsourcing and asking for help.”

In addition to this exploration of the city’s digital initiative, there is also an incredible line-up of speakers, plus over 100 exhibitors on the Dx3 Canada Expo Floor.

The Dx3 Sessions offer over 35+ practical workshops that include everything from Social CRM, SEO, Digital Media, Gamification, The Digital Wallet, Bloggers and Influencers, Group Buying, and Online Shopping.

Registered attendees will also be able to visit leading companies on the trade show floor, drop by the Moneris Small Business Zone, explore the Mobile Experience Lab, hear from exhibitors in the IAB Canada Spotlight Theatre and attend the live performance of the Debaters.

Dx3 Canada runs on January 25 & 26 2012 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. Access to the Dx3 Canada Expo floor is free.
