Win7Assist Now Available To Calculate Multiple Microsoft Windows 7 Migration Paths

assetlabsOn-demand Software Asset Management (SAM) & License Analytics company AssetLabs has announced the availability of Win7Assist, empowering corporate SAM teams and Microsoft SAM Partners to forecast the times and costs of migration paths to Microsoft Windows® 7, as well as identifying applications that may hinder a Microsoft Windows 7 upgrade.

“Microsoft has gone through great efforts to ensure a seamless transition from Windows XP to Windows 7, but legacy applications from 3rd parties may hinder a corporate migration or cause increased post-migration support costs. The clear strategy is to clearly identify & upgrade such legacy applications prior to a Windows 7 migration in order to ensure productivity and reduce costs.win7assist screenshot

Win7Assist includes:

  • Cost Migration calculator: Forecast the time to finish a Windows 7 migration based upon current migration rate, as well as by modifying the retirement age of PCs
  • Application Compatibility : Identify the magnitude and replacement cost of applications that have compatibility issues with both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 7
  • Drill-down reports: Identify the devices currently using applications that are not Windows 7 compliant
  • Win7Assist is included within AssetLabs’ flagship AssetCheck service

AssetCheck is currently available from Microsoft LARs (Large Account Resellers) including Compucom, Dell, & OnX Enterprise Solutions.
