After Sun Youth’s announcement last week that they were short 2,000 toys for their holiday toy drive, Montreal’s own MEGA Brands received an urgent call from the North Pole. The “big man” himself, along with several of his Elves will make a quick trip to the MEGA Brands toy factory where they will be hard at work helping build those extra toys.
“I was worried our workshop wouldn’t be able to make these missing toys in time for Christmas, so I called my friends at MEGA to give me a hand in helping Sun Youth”, said Mr. Claus, Santa Claus that is.
To celebrate his visit, MEGA Brands has extended an invitation to a lucky group of Sun Youth kids that will meet Santa Claus and receive a tour of the toy factory, on Friday, December 16th, as they learn how toys are made, right here in their home town.
“We are very pleased to assist Sun Youth in their efforts to help families and children in need”, said Marc Bertrand, President and CEO of MEGA Brands. “Every child should receive a toy during the holidays, and we are happy to work alongside Santa to help make this happen.”
Adds Sid Stevens, Executive Vice-President and cofounder of Sun Youth: “We are touched by the offer that came in from MEGA Brands. We are always pleased to welcome new partners and MEGA came through at a very difficult period for our organization. This partnership will allow us to make sure that 2000 youngsters between the age of 6 and 12 will be able to have gifts under the Christmas tree, thanks to MEGA and Santa”.
We invite the media to join us on Friday, December 16th at 10:30 am as we welcome Santa and the Sun Youth kids at the MEGA Brands toy factory, located at 4505 Hickmore, Montreal, H4T 1K4.
