Infinite Skills Redesigns iPad App

infinite skills [1]Toronto’s Infinite Skills Inc [1] has just made available a new version of its popular iPad training app [2]. This update introduces in-app purchasing for all of their high-quality training courses, over 70 at launch. Topics range from AutoCAD 2012 to Adobe Photoshop, jQuery Programming, and more. The update includes performance enhancements specific to iOS5 and a redesigned interface that makes finding and viewing tutorial videos even easier than before.

“We’ve had an incredible response to our iPad app since it first came out, and we’re excited to deliver the features people have told us they want,” said Colin Boyd, sales director for Infinite Skills. “More free content? Done. More courses? Our pleasure. The ability to watch full 10 hour courses in a single app? No problem.”

It’s the availability of so much free content that sets the app apart, Boyd said. The app is a free download, and it includes hundreds of full-length preview videos that can be viewed right away. Once a user decides they want a to unlock a course, they can purchase it within the app and immediately receive full access.Updated Training App [3]

The Infinite Skills Training App currently includes full courses for programs in the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office 2010 for Windows and 2011 for Mac, Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Revit series and popular programming languages such as Java, C# and C++. The full list includes more than 70 separate titles, and according to Boyd, the app will be updated with additional content on a weekly basis.

Once a course is purchased within the app, it can be instantly viewed streaming over WiFi and 3G/4G connections. In addition to playback on the iPad screen, the tutorials may also be viewed on compatible HDTVs and computers using Apple’s AirPlay functionality.

“No one learns in the same way, so we’ve designed a flexible learning experience that can be adapted to the customer’s unique needs,” said Mike Spaulding, president of Infinite Skills. “We’re combining our proven tutorial video content delivery with the popular user-friendly experience of iOS.”

The new Infinite Skills Training App is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store. In addition to its iPad edition, Infinite Skills is also working on a version that can be viewed on the iPhone and iPod Touch. A full list of all tutorials developed by Infinite Skills and numerous free demo videos can be found on the company’s website.
