Almost a Turkish Soap Opera Web Series

Sababa Emporium Film Productions and AR&B Films are reaching out to their independent film’s audience by releasing Almost a Turkish Soap Opera TV series as a Web Series.  The screenplay had been written for the TV genre and the film genre.  Sababa Emporium Film Productions took advantage and filmed both the TV series and the film simultaneously. 

The Web series will be available to all Facebook fans of Almost a Turkish Soap Opera on multiple web streaming almost a turkish soap operaplatforms such as Blip.TV, YouTube,Vimeo, iTunes and more. Each week fans will be able to watch one 5 to 10 minute episodes over 30 episodes.

Sababa Emporium Film Productions and AR&B Films are reaching out to their independent film’s audience by using social networking.

Their film, Almost a Turkish Soap Opera which is currently being marketed to the Middle East and Europe where Turkish soap operas dubbed in many languages have become very popular, is set to be released on DVD in the summer of 2012.

Almost a Turkish Soap Opera, is a film that captures the turmoils of two young modern Turkish men trying to make a home in the West but finding their lives have turned into a Turkish soap opera. The independent film has finished filming principal photography and is currently in post-production. The movie was filmed entirely on the Red One camera in Vancouver. The film reflects on how Turkish soap operas have become very popular in the Middle East and now in Europe. The producers of the film will showcase the feature film in North American and European festivals and also as a Turkish soap opera in the Middle East dubbed in Turkish and Arabic and other languages.

Almost a Turkish Soap Opera is about how a servant’s son (Kamil) and his best friend (Adel) try to find a better life in North America. His best friend’s grand uncle, the head of the Emre family and a formidable and powerful man, is referred to as the Godfather of Istanbul. Kamil and Adel dream of finding their fortune in Hollywood like the stars in their favourite Turkish soap operas. However, when they eventually reach Los Angeles, reality hits them in the face. Adel is arrested and deported back to Turkey while Kamil finds himself moving to Canada arranged to marry his cousin and live with her family. Desperate to leave Turkey but unable to return to the USA, Adel seeks Kamil’s help in Canada. Things take a turn for the worse when Adel’s family arranges for him to marry his cousin who also happens to be his grand uncle’s spoiled grand daughter AND on top of all this, Adel seeks love with his ESL teacher leaving Kamil to fix the whole mess. Have their lives now turned into a Turkish soap opera?
