Canada Media Fund 2011-2012 Versioning Guidelines Updated

posted in National News By: | Print This Post Print This Post

Canada Media FundThe Canada Media Fund has announced a change to its Versioning Program for 2011-2012.  In that Program a project must be completed in its original language before it will be considered eligible for versioning assistance.

Previously, for television series, the CMF required the entire series to be completed before any episode of that series was eligible for versioning assistance.  There was an exception, however, for animated series. An animated series could be submitted for versioning assistance once an episode of that series was completed.

The CMF is now extending this exception to live-action series.  Starting in 2011-2012, any eligible series, whether animated or live action, can be submitted upon the completion of one of its episodes.  Please see section 3.2.1 of the Versioning Program Guidelines (PDF) for more information.
