WinMagic to Debut SecureDoc 4.6 at RSA Conference 2009

WinMagicToronto – WinMagic® Data Security, the innovative leader in endpoint security, will demonstrate SecureDoc 4.6, the first comprehensive enterprise-class full-disk encryption solution for heterogeneous computing environments, at the RSA Conference 2009 (booth 831). WinMagic will show how SecureDoc 4.6 provides centrally-manageable and fully-transparent, ‘always-on’ full-disk encryption for Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac – making it simple for organizations to protect all data on all servers, desktops, laptops and removable media.

Mac computers are often not included in encryption deployments – many enterprise networks are primarily Windows-based, and Mac platforms are used by select departments or individuals (including many executives). SecureDoc offers the ability to configure, deploy and manage encryption for Mac desktops and laptops from the same console that is used to manage the Windows machines. This drives greater efficiency for IT and security staff while ensuring sensitive data is protected. Centralized escrow and management of encryption keys also ensures continued access to data for authorized users in the event of lost passwords, departing employees or other challenges.

Dolphin Digital Media Launches Family Internet Solution To Keep Kids Safer Online

Dolphin Digital MediaTorontoDolphin Digital Media, Inc. has launched Dolphin Secure – a family Internet solution developed in Canada that allows parents to tailor and manage their child’s experiences online. Dolphin Secure quickly and easily downloads onto any computer in the home; and, using an easy-to-use, on-screen dashboard and unique identification system, parental guidelines can be applied to each child whenever and wherever they go online.

Dolphin Secure provides a safer online environment for children. After registering on the website, each time an Internet browser or an Instant Messaging application is opened on a Dolphin Secure computer, a log-in page is triggered. Children simply enter their username and scan their fingerprint. The system identifies each child by matching their fingerprint to a unique number inside Dolphin Secure – no more passwords to share, steal, or even remember. Upon identification, each child’s personal, customizable home page within either “Dolphin Surf” or “Dolphin Surf Kids” (the Dolphin family of social networks) becomes promptly loaded. From there the child is free to explore the Internet and seek new friends within the parameters established for that specific child by their parent.

D-BoxLongueuil Québec – Heading to the movies just became a more “moving” experience, thanks to new motion-activated theater seats available for theatergoers,  announced today. Beginning April 3, audiences will experience the seats with the release of Universal Pictures’ new action-thriller, Fast & Furious.

D-BOX Technologies will debut its Motion Systems for the first time during this theatrical release. The seats are equipped with the company’s Motion technology and powered by D-BOX Motion Effects that corresponds to the action taking place onscreen, causing the seats to tilt and shake in perfect synchronization with the onscreen action.

Audience members will feel all the shifts and rumbles of an opening hijacking sequence, however the seats will remain still during the quieter, dialogue-driven scenes. The seats are in motion for about a third of the film, including intelligent vibrations that move along to the soundtrack and stronger movements for the action scenes.

Sierra Wireless TRU-Flow Improves Performance Across Product Lines

Sierra WirelessVancouverSierra Wireless today announced the expansion of the company’s patent-pending TRU-Flow™ technology to include Sierra Wireless EV-DO products. First launched in the company’s HSPA product line in 2007 to address the issue of reduced data transfer speed during simultaneous upload and download, TRU-Flow is the only technology in the world to improve web page load times during uplink congestion even with virtual private network (VPN) enabled.

Sierra Wireless TRU-Flow is designed to address the way real users work over their wireless connections. When a wireless network user attempts to upload and download over the wireless network at the same time, congestion can reduce data throughput, slowing down performance. Sierra Wireless TRU-Flow monitors IP traffic and data throughput to optimize the overall upload and download modem performance. When there is uplink congestion, TRU-Flow technology is theoretically capable of 9 times increase in download throughput. Field tests show an average 100 percent increase in the download throughput performance and an average 100 percent improvement in web page load times even with a VPN enabled and regardless of the mobile operator network.
