Imagineer Systems, creators of the Academy Award-winning mocha® Planar Tracking technology, will be exhibiting at SIGGRAPH 2014 from August 12th through 14th at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Attendees can stop by the Imagineer Systems booth (817) in the exhibit hall to learn more about the launch of the mocha Pro v4, which features a brand new Stereoscopic 3D workflow, Python scripting support, customizable keyboard shortcuts, new exports and format handling, and more improvements for visual effects facilities. ACM SIGGRAPH has announced the selection of Elliot Kotek, co-founder of Not Impossible Labs, as the keynote speaker at SIGGRAPH 2014, the 41st International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, 10-14 August 2014 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The current content chief and co-founder of Not Impossible Labs, and editor-in-chief of Not Impossible Now, Kotek is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Beyond Cinema and the former editor-in-chief of both Moving Pictures and Celebs.com. Burnaby’s Animatrik Film Design has announced the expansion of its Virtual Production services offerings through the addition of the first Solid Track system in North America. Animatrik is further enhancing its SolidTrack system with Ultimatte Real-time Chroma keying; Encodacam lens encoders from General Lift; and two high performance Autodesk MotionBuilder systems. The result will deliver a solution capable of visualizing CG characters, sets and props in real-time, with support for camera zooms and minimal latency while shooting live action. Rainmaker Entertainment Inc. has announced its continuing production partnership with noted independent production company Blockade Entertainment with the announcement of their second theatrical film together, Sly Cooper. The CG-Stereoscopic animated theatrical feature film is based on the highly successful PlayStation® video game franchise from Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC (SCEA). Planned for release in early 2016, the film is written and directed by Kevin Munroe and produced by Blockade’s CEO Brad Foxhoven and VP of Development David Wohl along with Rainmaker’s Kim Dent Wilder.
