SIGGRAPH 2014 Selects Not Impossible Labs Co-Founder Elliot Kotek As Keynote Speaker

siggraph 2014ACM SIGGRAPH has announced the selection of Elliot Kotek, co-founder of Not Impossible Labs, as the keynote speaker at SIGGRAPH 2014, the 41st International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, 10-14 August 2014 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The current content chief and co-founder of Not Impossible Labs, and editor-in-chief of Not Impossible Now, Kotek is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Beyond Cinema and the former editor-in-chief of both Moving Pictures and Celebs.com. New Animated Series The 7D Premieres On Disney XD This July 13th

The Day My Butt Went Psycho Premieres On TELETOON Canada

teletoonImagine a very cheeky world, where goth butts and unicorn butts exist and where an ordinary boy named Zack is best buddies with his newly-detached butt, Deuce. Together, Zack and Deuce have a knack for fun adventures as they navigate a world where humans and their butts live side by side. This cheeky world becomes a reality (and a TV show) on June 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT on TELETOON. The Day My Butt Went Psycho, a hilarious 20 x 30-minute animated series, airs during TELETOON’s Can’t Miss Thursdays block. Additionally, on June 12, leading up to the series premiere, TELETOON’s afternoon programming will be filled with butt-themed episodes of Adventure Time, Rocket Monkeys and Johnny Test. The NFB Returns To Annecy Animation Festival With Nine Films

nfbAt the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which takes place from June 9 to 14, 2014, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) will present a rich selection of innovative films showcasing the talents of animation filmmakers from here and elsewhere. This year’s program boasts no less than nine short films produced or co-produced by the NFB: seven of them are in competition, six are receiving world-premiere screenings, and four are international co-productions. The NFB is extremely pleased to play a part in the worldwide renown of Canadian animated films. Animation has always had pride of place at the NFB, and is the genre par excellence through which audiences can discover the daring creativity of some of today’s finest filmmakers. Teletoon April Programming Highlights

teletoonTELETOON premieres the new series Steven Universe this April. Described as “the romantic misadventures of a weird looking boy and a flame-spewing princess” in the New York Times, the show follows Steven and three gem-covered female superheroes Amethyst, Garnet and Pearl. April Fool’s Day includes the premiere of a one hour Mightly Mighty Monsters: Pranks for the Memories special as well as the Total Drama All-Stars’ “alternate ending” finale episode where the season’s loser ends up winning! Both Packages From Planet X and Ultimate Spider-Man also air their season finale episodes this April. Lego Ninjago drops two brand new episodes back-to-back!
