Sandvine To Demonstrate Network Policy Control In The Cloud At SDN And OpenFlow World Congress

sandvineIntelligent broadband network solutions provider for fixed and mobile operators Sandvine has announced that it will demonstrate a completely virtualized Network Policy Control system in an OpenStack framework at SDN & OpenFlow World Congress in Frankfurt, Germany.  Sandvine is the first Network Policy Control provider to demonstrate this technology.

Sandvine’s commitment to Software-Defined Networking (SDN) was first announced in May when it published whitepaper with Heavy Reading entitled “Policy Control & SDN: A Perfect Match?”  Since, Sandvine has furthered its SDN strategy by becoming an SDN Technology Partner with Juniper Networks Contrail product and ongoing work to integrate Sandvine’s policy engine with Dell’s PowerEdge Blade platform.

“Sandvine has a demonstrable SDN & Network Functions Virtualization strategy for its platform. We have foreseen the need and committed to the delivery of application- and subscriber-aware feature sets in a Software-Defined Network, including Network Services Chaining. We see SDN as a means of continuing our innovation leadership into the next realm of policy control: virtualization,” said Don Bowman, Chief Technology Officer, Sandvine.

Sandvine will be leading a discussion on Extending SDN for subscriber-based service chaining at SDN & OpenFlow World Congress on Thursday, October 17th.
