Dr. Ray Muzyka Announced As Keynote For 10th Edition Of MIGS

MIGSMontreal International Game Summit (MIGS) is proud to announce Dr. Ray Muzyka as the opening keynote speaker for the 10th annual MIGS conference. Dr. Muzyka joins other high quality speakers from across the world, covering the gaming industry’s hot topics. About 2,000 attendees are expected to take part in the largest event for video game professionals on the East Coast.

As MIGS celebrates its 10th edition in Montreal, the event organizers are thrilled to welcome back the keynote speaker from the very first MIGS event. Many changes have affected the games industry over the past decade and attendees look forward to hearing the perspective from Dr. Muzyka from his time in the industry.

In his keynote Best Practices in Leadership and Communication, Dr. Muzyka will present observations around sustainable entrepreneurship, leadership and communication best practices, using lessons from his past work at BioWare and Electronic Arts and more recently, impact investing at Threshold Impact.

Muzyka commented, “The interactive entertainment and technology industries have evolved spectacularly over the past decade. Their pace of change remains high, which makes it even more challenging for entrepreneurs to succeed, but sharing best practices can help! I was privileged to be the first speaker at the first MIGS conference ten years ago, and I’m excited and honored to be asked to keynote the Montreal International Game Summit again this year.”

MIGS has unveiled most of its broad range of sessions as the event dates approach. Independent developers working on new digital channels will find food for thought from their peers with sessions on monetization, player behavior and how to obtain funding, with talks in the works from companies like Schell Games and Red Barrels. AAA productions will be well represented, with speakers from Quebec publisher Ubisoft, who will provide a sneak peak of its next-generation, highly anticipated, Watch Dogs, and WB Games, who will talk on the challenges faced during the development of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Full event program and session descriptions can be found on MIGS 2013. The Early Bird rates end this weekend, on September 14th.
