movie orbyFrank D’Angelo‘s first movie production – Real Gangsters, a star-filled mob film – continues to receive accolades by picking up four more awards this past weekend at the ‘Action on Film International Film Festival’ in Pasadena California, including Best Teleplay, Best Screenplay, Best Soundtrack and Best Picture. The film was nominated for a total eight awards including Best Supporting Actress for Margot Kidder’s role. He also wrote the soundtrack and performs most of the music in the film. All in all, it’s been a great summer for Frank D’Angelo as the hit single “Dreamer” from the soundtrack of Real Gangsters hit the top 40’s this past week as the most increased and most added song on the MediaBase and AC Music Charts.

At the ‘Action on Film International Film Festival’ Frank, also was happy to announce the appointment of Audrey Loggia as his Manager for Film and Screen; Audrey is also the longtime manager of screen legend Robert Loggia. Now Frank is surrounded with two talented people, including music industry veteran Jeff Burns who is his music manager.

Real Gangsters tells the story of the fictional Lo Giacamo family, one of the most successful crime syndicates in New York City. Run by cousins Vincent and Jack Lo Giacamo, Real Gangsters shows how these two men maintain control of their dangerous extended family and volatile business ventures by very different means. Vincent is the politician: the man who always has a plan to help keep the peace, find common ground, and bind blood and commerce to grow the family into a billion dollar empire. Jack is the muscle: the hot head who is ruthless and uncompromising living in the moment and acting based on how he feels. Unfortunately for these two men, these two philosophies don’t always work together.

If you love mob movies, this is a must see film. Real Gangsters is an adrenalin rush. A constant roller coaster ride of classic crime, class acts, and the thrill that comes from living life on the edge, one day at a time, when at any moment you may have to put your life on the line to serve and protect the family.
