Pop Corn TV To Launch This Fall In Canada on CTS Television
Tricord Media has signed a co-production deal with French producer Novavision for 170 episodes of Pop Corn TV to begin airing this September on Canada’s Crossroads Television System (CTS). Episodes will be hosted by popular Canadian ‘clean comedian’, Leland Klassen and will include a variety of comical hidden-camera gags.
Pop Corn TV is Novavision’s flagship program, a compilation of their hidden camera gags, bloopers, video gags, comedy sketches and extreme sports. Although Pop Corn TV is seen around the world, this is a first for Novavision in North America. Using the expertise of Tricord Media to version Pop Corn TV for the English North American audience, the two companies hope to corner the market and bring family entertainment to the living rooms of North Americans.
“We’re excited to distribute this hilarious program to CTS and in future, to other broadcasters across the country,” said Jan Di Clemente, Director of License Sales for Tricord Media. “We believe this is a show that provides humour and fun for the entire family.”
Popcorn TV will air weekdays at 3:30pm on CTS, beginning September 3rd. In addition to being available over-the-air and on basic-cable in the Ontario markets of Toronto/Hamilton, Kitchener/London, Ottawa, and the Alberta markets of Calgary and Edmonton, CTS is also available across Canada on satellite with Bell TV channel 651 and Shaw Direct channel 355.
