[1]In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Canadian Labour Congress [1] has launched Work it! [2], a web-based video game dealing with the challenges women face in balancing work and family life. The game will send a message about these challenges, but also about how unions can make working life better and more balanced for women.
It can also be used as a a way to start a conversation about the challenges women face in balancing work and family life – [3]from finding child care to securing safe housing, to dealing with a stressful workplace.
The web page also features links to further information on a variety of work-related topics, including workplace violence, childcare, health issues as well as poverty and housing.
The Canadian Labour Congress will officially launch Work It! tonight at a reception in Ottawa at the Metropolitain Brasserie beginning at 7pm ET.
