[1]The Interactive Fund [2] is a program created in partnership between BC Film + Media [3] and the BC Arts Council [4]. The program is intended to support the production of high quality, original, interactive digital media content owned and controlled by BC companies or individuals. Funding is in the form of a non-recoupable advance of up to $50,000.
This year’s successful applicants are as follows:
- Kibooco Interactive Inc. – Kibooco; An online hub for kids
- Tangible Interaction Design Inc [5]. – Halo; An interactive light sculpture
- Brown Eyed Girl Productions [6] and blyssful Productions [7] – Dads; A transmedia comedy
- The Goggles Media Group [8] – Touch; An immersive “Bookumentary” for iPad
- Soma Television Ltd [9]. – Fan Query; A system that allows audiences to communicate with fictional characters
- Mamaoo Pictures Ltd. – My Cree; An App designed to make learning Cree interactive and accessible
- Pug Pharm Productions Inc. [10] – FanGage; A plug-in solution for instant audience engagement
- Switch United Designs Inc. [11] – Visible City; A location based mobile application
- Btwxt Games Inc [12]. – A mobile game, mobile app and iPad app
The Digital Media Development Envelope [13] is also a partnership between British Columbia Film + Media and the BC Arts Council. The program is intended to provide film or television based entertainment companies with an envelope of money to support a range of eligible interactive digital media activities. Funding is in the form of a non-recoupable advance of up to $25,000.
