Interfacing Technologies Releases New Standard Operations Procedures Module

interfacing technologies [1]Interfacing Technologies [1] has released a new Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) module within the latest version of its award winning business process management (BPM) software, the Enterprise Process Center®. EPC 7.3 is the first BPM software to provide SOP development and management as part of its suite and the first SOP technology available on the market to take a process orientated approach to managing work instructions.

The SOP is automatically generated and populated with all inputted EPC content related to procedures, and centrally stored in the EPC repository allowing it to be systematically versioned and subject to all approval cycles. Additionally, if any procedure, process or related information (role, rule, doc, control, etc.) is changed within EPC that relates to the SOP, the document automatically marks itself as “outdated” and sends a notification email to subscribers. “The automated monitoring feature of the SOP module bridges the gap between ongoing process management and procedural associated documents, and is a great aid for compliance purposes, which constantly require up to date information,” says Corey Lynch Business Improvement and Compliance Manager of Rema Tip Top.

The process orientated approach to SOPs provides users with the benefit of visual maps within the documentation and provides context as to when to apply the correct step-by-step text based procedures. The maps are intuitively and intelligently laid-out across multiple pages, by-passing page breaks by auto-shifting objects to the next page, and inserting inter-page connectors (IPC) for fluid and continuous reading. Additionally, the documents are enhanced by EPC’s full rich text editor which supports bullets, tables and even embedded images, allowing instructional images or supporting diagrams to be included alongside procedures.

The new module produces detailed, professional and printable SOPs, similar to industry standards, ideal for employee training material and user guides. These documents focus on how work is done, and are designed to be easily readable and simplified for end user employees. SOPs are a vital part of every business, and even mandatory by many compliance programs, but are time consuming projects that pose significant challenges to companies to create, approve, distribute, revise and maintain; EPC 7.3 reduces this strain on an organization and increases the overall value achieved from their efforts.
