Wavefront and Microsoft are back with hands-on coding workshops! Calling all developers and designers – we are here to support your app building and get you prepared to submit it to the Windows Phone Store.

In just over two years, the Windows Phone Store has grown to well over 135,000 apps and games with no sign of slowing down. With an application ecosystem that continues to accelerate, now is the time to build new apps for the platform and port existing apps to Windows Phone Store.

Responding to the increased traction of HTML5, this workshop will give you an in-depth look at HTML5 and Windows Phone, and how the two can play together. We will also see how HTML5 factors into the development for Windows 8 and how web developers can leverage their skills in this space.

Schedule

08:30AM – 09:00AM – Registration & breakfast
09:00AM – 10:00AM – An introduction to HTML5
10:00AM – 10:45AM – A lap around Windows Phone 8 app development and how HTML fits into the picture
10:45AM – 11:00AM – Coffee break
11:00AM – 12:00PM – Building native HTML5 apps for Windows 8
12:00PM – 01:00PM – Lunch
01:00PM – 01:45PM – Responsive web design: designing for mobile and using this in your native apps
01:45PM – 02:30PM – Sharing code between Windows Phone and Windows 8
02:30PM – 03:00PM – Coffee break
03:00PM – 04:00PM – Succeeding in the Store – tips and tricks for marketing your app
04:00PM – 04:45PM – Overview of Microsoft’s Modern UI
04:45PM – 05:00PM – Wrap up & prize draws
