After decades of playing second fiddle to the No. 1 video game hero, Luigi is getting some love from Nintendo. Nintendo has named 2013 the “Year of Luigi,” thanks to the numerous appearances that Mario’s timid, green-clad twin brother will be making in games this year. In a Nintendo Direct video, Nintendo provided details about games on the way that feature Luigi, as well as information about more than two dozen upcoming games, including content for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS across packaged and digital formats. On February 17, Nintendo will release a new Wii U bundle in the U.S. and Canada that is an unbelievable value for fans. The Wii U ZombiU Deluxe Set comes with all the contents of the standard Wii U Deluxe Set, plus the addition of the ZombiU game, a black Wii U Pro Controller and a collectible booklet featuring artwork from the game and never-before-seen developer commentary. Nintendo Land will also be included as a downloadable game, rather than a packed-in disc. Ubisoft has confirmed the release dates of all three upcoming episodes of Assassin’s Creed III The Tyranny of King Washington. This all new single-player experience will let players discover an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution. In the first episode of the Tyranny of King Washington series, our hero, Ratonhnhaké:ton, awakens from an unsettling dream to find that, despite his efforts to deliver justice in the newly-founded United States of America, a new king has been crowned – George Washington. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announce the details – and an invitation – to the ultimate battle of superhero supremacy for the upcoming fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. For the next 10 weeks, the roster of legendary DC Comics characters will enter the Injustice Battle Arena. Based in Montreal’s growing game community, Wild Games Studio and game designer Stephane Woods are excited to bring a whole new adventure game to the gamers. Wild Game Studios are creating a whole new approach of First Person Shooter, RPG and adventure game genre. Day One: Garry’s Incident is a mature Adventure FPS Survival Game of a whole new kind. A successful Kickstarter project will allow Wild Games Studio to complete episode one and eventually bring the complete series on game consoles. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata unleashed Wii U news in an installment of Nintendo Direct today as he outlined Nintendo’s future plans for the console. Iwata revealed how the Wii U launch lineup will be bolstered by a long list of top game franchises headed for the new console. These are games that longtime players and newcomers alike will love to play, and everyone will be experiencing them in new ways, thanks to the integrated second-screen experiences enabled by the Wii U GamePad controller. Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, where players take on the role of lethal operative Sam Fisher who must stop an international terrorist group behind “The Blacklist,” who is conducting a series of escalating attacks on U.S. assets. Operating under the newly-formed Fourth Echelon unit, Sam and his team have been entrusted by the US President to hunt down these terrorists by any means necessary and stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero.
