Rogers Communications has unveiled NextBox™ 2.0, a suite of new features that will transform the home rogersentertainment experience, allowing people to access live and recorded TV programs from any room in the home – a repackaging and upgrading of the same services that are available through most of the service providers, but still not offering (in my opinion, which I continue later on this page) true viewing autonomy to Canadians. Family Makes All The Right Moves With New Series From Temple Street Productions

Family ChannelAstral’s Family Channel has commissioned a new series from Temple Street Productions. The Next Step is a single camera tween drama, shot in a reality television style. The show is created by Frank van Keeken, who created the popular Family Channel series, Wingin’ It (recipient of the 2011 Shaw Rocket Prize). RCMP Seize Counterfeit DVDs At Gibraltar Trade Centre

RCMPAs a result of an investigation conducted by the London Federal Enforcement Section of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) approximately 3,770 counterfeit DVDs worth approximately $75,000 were seized from a booth at the Gibraltar Trade Centre on Dundas Street East in London. A male and female, both from Cambridge, Ontario were arrested and face charges under the Copyright Act for allegedly offering for sale an infringing copy of work where a copyright subsists. If convicted they could faces fines of up to twenty-five thousand dollars and/or imprisonment for a maximum term of six months. Read the rest of this entry »
