Pure Speculation In Edmonton This Month

Pure Speculation FestivalThe Pure Speculation Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival will be celebrating its 8th anniversary this November 18th through 20th at the Grant MacEwan Robbins Health Centre in Edmonton. Halloween Mad Science at Rideau Hall

Governor General of CanadaLast year, the Governor General and his wife, Sharon, successfully chased away all the pirates from Rideau Hall. This year, mad scientists will be taking over the grounds! On Halloween night, the general public is invited to trick-or-treat at Rideau Hall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and see what is being concocted.

Trick-or-treaters will be invited to explore the “scary science experiments path” and visit the laboratories of Halloween Biology 101, Daunting Mathematics, Slimy Chemistry and Frankenstein Physics. Animators from the Club des Débrouillards du Conseil du loisir scientifique de l’Outaouais and educators from the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation will be joining in the scary scientific fun!

In addition to these chilling experiments and a few other surprises, the Rideau Hall staff will be on hand to distribute goodies to visitors of all ages. Street parking is available in the neighbourhood.

Canadian Special Events and Meetings Expo West Venue Change Due to Labour Dispute

Canadianspecialevents.com, producers of the Canadian Special Events and Meetings Expo West (CSEME WEST), an annual showcase event for BC and Western Canadian event and meeting professionals and the hospitality industry, announced today that they will move their showcase event from Rocky Mountaineer Station to CBC Vancouver Studios due to the strike action of Teamsters Union – Local 31 at the Station. Moving venues within seven days of the event is a huge endeavor for the production company, suppliers, exhibitors, and participants who are coming from as far away as San Francisco.
