Allan Gotlieb, Chairman of the Donner Canadian Foundation, today announced that the winner of the Donner Book Prize, the award for best book on public policy by a Canadian, will now receive $50,000 (up from $35,000). The other shortlisted titles will now take home $7,500 (up from $5,000). Mr. Gotlieb also announced the official Call for Submissions and Jury for the fourteenth annual Donner Prize. Over the weekend of September 30th, more than 400 college and university students competed in the Great Canadian Appathon2, creating a mobile game in under 48 hours. Fuelled by pizza and energy drinks more than 400 students across Canada worked non-stop over the weekend of September 30th to develop 88 mobile games during the Great Canadian Appathon2. Presented by XMG Studio and the National Post, the Great Canadian Appathon2 gave students the opportunity to win over $50,000 in cash and prizes, get their game published and even win a chance at a job in the games industry at XMG Studio.
