Today’s Nintendo Direct Highlights

Nintendo CanadaNintendo detailed major announcements for its Wii U home console and Nintendo 3DS portable system in the first Nintendo Direct of 2014. Launch dates and details for multiple games were revealed, including new characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. Nintendo also announced specifics about the addition of Game Boy Advance games to the Wii U Virtual Console service. NES Remix 2 is also on the way, complete with a Luigi-themed surprise. And a pair of games coming to the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS – Steel Diver: Sub Wars and Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball – demonstrate unique new ways for players to acquire add-on content. Retro City Rampage: DX For Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo Unveils New Information About Mario Kart 8 And Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Nintendo CanadaThere were some announcements in today’s Nintendo Direct that made me smile – two of my favourite characters are coming to the Wii U. I am very much looking forward to Donkey Kong’s new title, Tropical Freeze, as well as Yoshi’s New Island. Plus – one of Nintendo’s popular characters from the recently released Super Mario 3D World game is coming to two of its biggest titles of 2014 for Wii U. Rosalina will be playable in both Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8. Nintendo also launched NES Remix in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U, re-imagining parts of 16 classic NES games. Retro City Rampage Adds Mod Support And Enhanced Graphics

vblankVBlank Entertainment has released the latest updates for its hit title Retro City Rampage. In this update, the developers have added official mod support, allowing players to create new vehicles, characters, fonts and color palettes. Steam versions will update automatically. For DRM-Free and GOG, login to your download page to grab version 1.11. If it’s not yet available, check back shortly. Also, for those of you who do not yet own Retro City Rampage, VBlank is offering a one day only, 75% sale over at the Steam Store.
