House of Cool  is excited to announce the launch of Massively , a content platform that merges interactive storytelling with chat and text messaging apps, allowing audiences to interact with characters. Inspired by multiple choice adventures and alternate reality games, Massively aims to immerse readers in one-on-one simulated chat conversations. Users send and receive text message to guide stories, receive clues, jokes and more. Massively also allows brands to create and distribute custom content via chat application.
“Story is at the heart of everything we do,” said House of Cool President Ricardo Curtis. “Massively lets anyone create interactive stories that complement the way people already use chat apps.”
Users can be authors as well, creating stories that are funny, scary and gripping, or simple chats with fictional characters. Massively leverages text messaging as a medium for entertainment by mimicking the experience of a typical chat conversation, with the potential to talk to anyone or anything.
Massively’s technical specifications were designed in consultation with Richard Bartle, author of Designing Virtual Worlds and pioneer of massively multiplayer online games.
