LMI Technologies Launches HDI 120 3D Scanner

lmi technologiesLMI Technologies (LMI), a Vancouver-based developer of 3D scanning, measurement, and data visualization technologies, announces the official release of the HDI 120 3D Scanner at TCT Show + Personalize today. The HDI 120 is the smallest advanced 3D scanning system using blue LED projection technology. The scanner delivers high resolution, accurate 3D scanning results at a fraction of the price of comparable systems. LMI is demonstrating the scanner for the first time at TCT Show + Personalize in booth G20 at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.HDI-120 3D Scanner front view

With over 35 years of manufacturing expertise and a dedicated software engineering team, LMI designed a compact and powerful 3D scanning system with the HDI 120. LMI builds their products from the ground up: from concept, design, to manufacturing. Designed for demanding industry applications that depend on accurate and repeatable scanning results, the HDI 120 is useful for reverse engineering, 3D inspection, measurement, and visualization. With a solid aluminium body that is dust proof and water resistant (IP67 rated), this pre-calibrated scanner is built to operate in harsh HDI-120 scan sample - auto partenvironments.

The HDI 120 is a portable scanner that fits in small spaces that would otherwise be difficult to achieve with larger 3D scanning systems. Powered by FlexScan3D software, users can process 3D data immediately with built-in data editing, alignment, and merging capabilities without exporting to a separate post-processing software application.

“At LMI, we believe in making 3D technologies more accessible,” said Terry Arden, CEO of LMI. “With the HDI 120 3D Scanner, we are committed to delivering the latest advanced 3D scanning solution that provides high quality 3D scan results at an affordable price. While 3D scanning technologies are often perceived as complex, the HDI 120 is designed with simplicity in mind. Due to the price point of the scanner and its ease-of-use, we are expecting more companies to adopt 3D scanning technology that spark innovative uses in different industrial and commercial applications.”

The HDI 120 is the first in its series of compact, pre-calibrated 3D scanners from LMI with more models soon to be released. The scanner is available for order today.
