A jury of nine renowned individuals in the digital media sphere met in Toronto yesterday and today to evaluate innovative Canadian digital media projects that applied for production support from the Canada Media Fund’s Experimental Stream. The goal of the jury is to provide an external perspective on innovation as well as assess the experience of the production and creative teams with regards to their capacity to deliver the project. Gaargle Solutions Inc. today announced the launch of Dovetail, a cloud-based-mobile EMR and practice management software, built to streamline and facilitate the work of dental professionals. The solution was envisioned by Dr. Pietro Di Battista, a Montreal-based periodontist, who became frustrated with the broken processes imposed by existing software platforms. Ubisoft announced the launch of Watch Dogs’ WeareData, an experiential website designed to gather and graph the publicly available data that govern people’s lives in a single location. WeareData is initially available for the cities of Berlin, London and Paris. In Watch Dogs, the highly anticipated open world action game from Ubisoft, the fictionalized city of Chicago is run by a Central Operating System (CTOS), linking all of the city’s online infrastructures and public security installations to one centralized hub.
