Ricoh Canada Inc. today announced it is porting its powerful Field Service Automation (FSA) application to the BlackBerry BES 10 platform. The FSA app is Ricoh’s best-in-class solution for the field service technical team, allowing remote employees to drive significant efficiencies in typical field based tasks such as call closing and scheduling.
“The porting of this key Ricoh app over to the BES 10 platform provides us with the groundwork for the wholesale adoption of BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 smartphones by the entire service fleet – devices that have been thoroughly tested here with outstanding results,” said Andy Ambrozic, Ricoh’s Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations.
According to Ricoh Canada President and CEO, Mr. Glenn Laverty, “the relationship between Ricoh and BlackBerry is strategic and longstanding, and one that has provided our remote employees with an absolute advantage in the marketplace. The BES 10 platform only enhances the power of Ricoh applications in the hands of our employees.”
Ricoh has been a strong technology partner with the Waterloo-based manufacturer, and has routinely collaborated with BlackBerry in bringing new products to market. Leveraging a number of the outstanding core attributes unique to the Z10 and Q10 – such as exceptional speed, enhanced computing power and the innovative HUB – Ricoh’s FSA app eliminates significant hurdles that have traditionally burdened field-based staff, both in terms of time and productivity.
