Canadian out-of-home advertising provider Astral  Out-of-Home, a subsidiary of Astral Media Inc., has launched the latest edition of the Carte Blanche for Creatives contest . New this year, the contest is expanding by adding a third part into the fold: the Digital Out-of-Home in Vancouver. Back for a fourth consecutive year, the contest offers agency creatives the opportunity to create an OOH ad on behalf of a client and submit it to the creative community for comments and votes, as well as to a jury made up of people from the industry. In addition to providing a vertical French advertising face in Montréal and an English bus shelter face in Toronto, the contest enters the Vancouver market with a digital English advertising face in English.
“We are extremely proud of inviting creatives from coast to coast to take part in this contest for which the works submitted increase in quality and originality from one year to the next,” said Nathalie Doré, Vice-President, Marketing and Media Creativity, Astral Out-of-Home. “Astral Out-of-Home is proud to stimulate creativity by giving participants carte blanche — the possibility of expressing their ideas freely, without constraints.”
The 10 finalists in each market will be determined by the creative community, who will be able to vote and comment on the works submitted via the contest website. With a member from each participating agency, the jury will pick the three winning pieces.
The contest rewards both the clients who are the subjects of the ads and the teams who created the ads. Clients will win an Astral Out-of-Home campaign, while copywriters and artistic directors will have the opportunity to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
