ACIS Launches Cloud Based Source Guide for Use by Associations

cloud search portalACIS Consulting, a Toronto-based provider of search technology services, has launched a new Membership Product Promotion Platform (M3P) as part of the Cloud Search Portal service offering. M3P is a specialized cloud based service offering tailored to meet the needs of associations that are looking for an easy-to-manage and less costly “Source Guide” solution for promoting the brands, products and services of their membership base. In addition to providing a needed service for the association membership, M3P can also be a new revenue stream generator for some associations.

The service works by using Cloud Search Portal technology to automatically crawl and index the websites of all association member companies. This crawl process begins from the landing page of each member company website, similar to the way Google or Bing would crawl your site to create a searchable index. Unlike Google, the M3P index will only have content from the registered members of the association and the content will also be enhanced by the specialized knowledgebase of each association. Unlike printed Source Guide directories, that become out of date very quickly, the M3P will continually refresh its index to match the updates on member websites.

A simple search box, which is connected to the M3P service, is placed on the association website. Web visitors can then use this search box to enter a member company name or product keyword. Search results are returned instantly, along with the member company logo and profile information. When the user then clicks on one of the search results, they are directed to the member website.

“The role of trade associations is continually evolving. Trade associations are looking for new ways to remain viable to their membership base,” said Efrem Habteselassie, Founding Partner at Cloud Search Portal. “Membership product promotion may not have been the primary mission of associations in the past, but realities of the 21st century are forcing associations to look beyond printing directories, annual meetings and advocacy. Members are looking for innovative ways to remain competitive in the age of mega cyber malls, social media and search engine optimization, and M3P answers to this demand.”

Among the early users of this service is the Canadian Office Products Association (COPA).

“The Cloud Search Portal search technology is a perfect fit for COPA’s longstanding mission to provide members with the top resources, services, educational and networking opportunities required to excel in today’s ever-evolving world of business,” said Sam Moncada, President of COPA. “M3P brings our members an additional value-added service in that it increases brand promotion and lead generation, boosts SEO and web traffic, and generates industry-wide BI reports.”
