Colligo Networks Adds iPhone and iPod Touch Support To SharePoint App

colligo networksColligo Networks, a Vancouver-based provider of SharePoint apps for email and document management, today announced the release of Colligo Briefcase 3.0, a major upgrade to the award-winning app for securely managing SharePoint content on Apple mobile devices. Previously available for Apple iPad, Colligo Briefcase 3.0 adds support for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, in addition to several new and enhanced features.

Colligo Briefcase, which won Best SharePoint product from Windows IT Pro at Microsoft TechEd in June 2012, is the leading app for managing and sharing Microsoft SharePoint content on Apple iPads, iPhones, and iPods. Based on a unified, native iOS code base, Briefcase utilizes Colligo’s proven, secure SharePoint caching engine, used by thousands of organizations globally, to deliver secure offline access to SharePoint content. Designed for people on-the-go, colligo briefcase 3.0Colligo Briefcase enables users to capture, view, edit, and share files and list items wherever they are, through the familiar touch interface. As with every Colligo app, Colligo Briefcase can be centrally deployed and managed through Colligo Administrator, enabling IT administrators to seamlessly configure SharePoint content access across multiple devices.

Colligo Briefcase has seen widespread adoption within organizations using SharePoint, including Pittson, Pennsylvania-based, Benco Dental. As the largest independent, family-owned dental distributor in the United States, Benco employs over 400 outside sales people, serving over 30,000 customers. Said Terry Barrett, Vice President of Information Technology at Benco, “With so many of our reps choosing to use their personal iPads in the field, it was imperative that we provide a solution that would enable their information access in a way that still ensured our security. Colligo Briefcase on iPad, and now iPhone, has allowed us to embrace and support BYOD so we can realize the productivity gains that are enabled by these mobile devices.”

New in Colligo Briefcase 3.0:

  •     Universal app covering iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
  •     Improved synchronization, including “Smart Caching” for offline access to SharePoint
  •     Support for InfoPath forms, enabling users to capture form data in the field
  •     Support for UAG/TMG/Forms based authentication, eliminating the need for VPNs to access SharePoint behind the corporate firewall
  •     Photo and sketch capture, with direct upload to SharePoint
  •     Optional configuration through Colligo Administrator (Colligo Briefcase Enterprise only)

“Best-of-breed security and functionality continue to define our development focus,” said Trevor Dyck, Director, Product Management, Colligo Networks. “Colligo Briefcase is unrivaled in its ability to provide information workers with the tools and data they need in the field, whether it’s completing InfoPath forms, editing SharePoint content, uploading photos or accessing emails in SharePoint—all within the secure confines of an organization’s existing SharePoint environment.”

Colligo Briefcase is available in three editions: Lite, Pro and Enterprise, with a single license covering iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Colligo Briefcase Pro is available for a limited time for only $2.99 (regular price: $14.99). Enterprise pricing is dependent on features and deployment options.

Colligo Briefcase Pro 3.0 is available immediately from the Apple App Store. Organizations in the US can also purchase in quantity using Apple’s B2B Volume Purchase Program. For organizations that require additional enterprise security features, as well as centralized administration and deployment, Colligo Briefcase Enterprise 3.0 is available directly from Colligo.
