CrypKey Offers New Software To Secure and Control Intellectual Property

crypkeyClients can now control distribution with DLM: Digital Rights Management for Windows, developed by Calgary’s CrypKey. This file protection software allows virtually any data file that can be opened in a Windows environment, including proprietary software to be protected by data license manager. These include audio files, animation, documents, images and more.

File protection software security stays with the file. The security control rights assigned to the file always stay with the file, regardless of who attempts to access the data. CrypKey DLM-protected files can be bound to a CrypKey USBKey. CrypKey DLM protects data files that are stored almost anywhere – attached to an e-mail, even after the e-mail is sent, stored on a portable digital media device, posted on an FTP site or stored on a desktop or network. File protection software can be configured so that even a system administrator cannot view confidential or business-critical files.

CrypKey DLM is particularly effective for training situations where the data’s source code, such as PowerPoint, is not available. This powerful solution enables vendors to implement data licensing features and thereby manage how the data is viewed. For instance, users can now control who views their demos with time-based, use-limited, and concurrent-network licensing. This dramatically expands the potential business models that can be used to market and sell proprietary data.

Protect investment in CrypKey by taking advantage of the flexible and comprehensive technical support. CrypKey maximizes file protection software options by offering three annual subscription support options:

  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum

CrypKey DLM offers two permission methods for accessing a file:

  • password protection
  • license key authorization
