They Killed It Productions Launches Canadian Comedy Website

Inspired by Louis C.K.’s successful download-to-own experiment, thestandupcomedians.com will be the first Canadian website to offer an entire catalog of original stand-up comedy titles DRM-free with no membership requirement. All titles offered are They Killed It Productions, Inc. originals, in which users can download-to-own DRM-free for $5.

“The stand-up comedians website was developed to give Canadian stand-up comics an easy way to distribute content to fans from around the world,” explained thestandupcomedians.com co-founder Paul Breau. “The site gives comics a way to deal directly with fans that might not otherwise get the chance to see them,” said co-founder Darrell Uhearn.

Stop Podcasting Yourself’s Graham Clark will lead theStandUpComedians.com launch, followed by Ivan Decker, Charlie Demers, Erica Sigurdson, Dylan Rhymer, Paul Bae, Ben McGinnis and more. TheStandUpComedians.com will release additional original stand-up comedy titles throughout 2012.
