HootSuite [1]With the latest wave of apps to join the App Directory [2], HootSuite [1] continues to simplify the lives of its 4+ million social media users – making it even easier to actively engage online with social media. The company’s latest integrations welcome mobile sharing app Instagram [3], content sharing network SlideShare [4], document sharing app edocr [5] and engagement app Zuum [6] into the popular, market-leading social media management dashboard.

These new apps move the company another step closer to achieving its visionary goal of offering one secure dashboard for users to streamline online communication, content, and multimedia from multiple social media networks. New apps allow users to access features easily:

HootSuite has taken a user-driven approach to developing its product roadmap, constantly reviewing and prioritizing its public-facing Feedback Forum [9] to determine upcoming integrations with the world’s growing number of popular social media networks. Instagram and SlideShare, among others, were among the top requested app integrations.

HootSuite’s Mobile UI Designer Helen Park is an Instagram Suggested User [10] (@ [11]MissyHelly [12]) with 33,000+ followers, and speaks to the benefit of adding Instagram to her HootSuite dashboard. “I’m stoked to have Instagram join the HootSuite family and know this app will make many Instagrammers happy. It’s now so easy to reply to my followers who comment on my photos, and it’s great that all my social networks are under one roof!”

“After launching the App Directory in late 2011, we gave many popular social media networks a new home in our dashboard.  We’re excited to welcome these popular social networks because they’re centrally focused around the easy-sharing of multimedia content,” says HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes. “Regardless of which social media network is popular today, and which is hot tomorrow, it’s HootSuite’s job to make the lives of our power-users, brands, and businesses easier – and we’ll continue watching the industry to achieve this goal.”

Ross Mayfield, Director of Business Development at SlideShare, a LinkedIn company, speaks to the value of SlideShare’s integration into the dashboard. “HootSuite’s integration with SlideShare provides a new way to monitor activity on the world’s largest professional content sharing community. This is a great example of how to leverage our open APIs to solve a problem for professionals.”

The HootSuite App Directory [2] features tools created by third-party developers to extend the capabilities of the dashboard.  To simplify the process, HootSuite allow developers to quickly create new apps using the available toolkit. Created apps integrate directly into HootSuite streams allowing a custom user experience within the social media dashboard.
