The Search Agency Continues International Growth With Canadian Acquisition

acquisition agencyThe Search Agency, a California-based global digital marketing agency that combines high-tech and high-touch strategies to help customers find and acquire the right audiences, today announced its expansion into Canada with the purchase of The Acquisition Agency, a Toronto-based digital marketing firm that provides its services to many leading companies.

Under the agreement, The Acquisition Agency will become The Search Agency’s Toronto office, led by The Acquisition Agency’s Jason Sikora. The talent of two companies with deep-rooted histories in search will be merged to provide international clients the best service and results from their online marketing programs. The union and purpose of these two companies is to also grow search marketing and optimization in Canada, which has historically been underserved in the Canadian market.

“The old adage of the ‘whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ definitely rings true with our acquisition of The Acquisition Agency. With a reputation for smart campaigns with measurable results from some of the brightest minds in digital marketing, The Acquisition Agency will help us drive even better results for our clients in Canada and here in the States,” said David M. Hughes, CEO of The Search Agency. “When we looked to grow into my native Canada, it was important for us to partner with a leading firm that had an established presence in the market, and we found that in The Acquisition Agency. It’s exciting to have fellow Canadians on board as we grow The Search Agency’s International presence overall.”

The Acquisition Agency’s Toronto offices will become The Search Agency’s Canadian headquarters, and will operate under The Search Agency brand. The acquisition will also enhance The Search Agency’s core service offerings, and will leverage The Acquisition Agency’s expertise in affiliate management, media buying and planning, SEO and SEM and other online lead generation campaigns.

The agency will maintain its existing talent-base, who will continue to run the firm and service its clients. Sikora, current CEO of The Acquisition Agency, will stay on as managing director in Canada, bringing more than 15 years of Internet marketing experience to The Search Agency. Prior to founding The Acquisition Agency, Sikora served as the Chief Marketing Officer at LavaLife Corp, leading all marketing initiatives and helping to grow the mobile division into the fastest growing sector of the company. In previous roles, Sikora has launched several online marketing initiatives with Starbucks, Amazon, and BlackBerry, and has served in executive positions with Grey Advertising Worldwide, Points.com, ClickThrough Interactive and others.

“As one of the world’s leading independent digital marketing agencies, The Search Agency brings our firm the technology and resources to take our customer acquisition strategies even further,” said Sikora. “We are really excited to be joining a true leader in search marketing, and bringing more than a decade of experience and expertise to the Canadian market. We believe the combined resources of the two companies will help us create and execute on innovative campaigns that really deliver.”
