Lumenera Introduces Improved High Resolution 11 Megapixel GigE Camera

LumeneraLumenera Corporation, an Ottawa-based manufacturer and developer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions for industrial, scientific and surveillance markets, today introduced the newly engineered, small form factor 11 megapixel Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) digital camera for industrial and scientific imaging applications. The new Lg11059 provides significant technological advancements, enhanced performance and ease-of-use over its predecessor including lower noise, and higher bit depth while housed in a smaller, robust enclosure.

Lumenera’s progressive scan Lg11059 digital camera offers 5 frames per second at full 4008 x 2672 resolution, high dynamic range of up to 66 dB, integrated Canon EF lens mount, selectable 8 or 14-bit image data plus locking GigE power and GPI/O (Hirose) connectors. The high performance Kodak KAI-11002 Interline Transfer image sensor with a 43.3 mm image diagonal and electronic global shutter delivers low dark current noise, negligible lag and low smear. The Lg11059 is ideally suited for applications with low-light conditions where high dynamic range is vital, while providing excellent sensitivity and high fidelity color reproduction.

The Lg11059 measures 76.2 x 76.2 x 82.6 mm, making it well suited for installation in small spaces or compact enclosures. The fully locking Gigabit Ethernet cabling, power connector and digital I/O interface ensure a simple plug-and-play installation. Simplified I/O cabling is provided through a locking Hirose connector supporting 4 output and 3 input ports that can be automatically or manually controlled through software. Pathology, aerial surveillance, traffic monitoring and industrial inspection are ideal applications for this 11 megapixel camera.

Full streaming of uncompressed video along with still image captures are easily controlled through Lumenera’s standard API interface or through the GigE Vision interface. Region of interest and binning modes allow the camera to run at faster frame rates.

The Lg11059 is now shipping and is available in color or monochrome as well as custom variants.
