Visions Of Vancouver – Sharing Our Stories In The Digital Age

Pi TheatrePi Theatre examines contemporary Vancouver and re-invents theatre for the digital age with Visions of Vancouver. These short audio dramas were written by Vancouver’s most exciting playwrights: Dennis Foon, Kevin Loring, Adrienne Wong, and Michele Riml with Michael St. John Smith. In these new plays each writer expresses their unique vision of Vancouver.

They are available, for a limited time, for free of charge streaming or download from the Pi Theatre website.

Elevate is the bittersweet, often funny story of Sal, a young woman struggling to find community in an anonymous downtown condo tower, written by Adrienne Wong, the Artistic Producer of Neworld Theatre.

The Bridge is the story of four people whose lives intersect on the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. This is the first writing collaboration for Riml, the writer behind the smash hit Sexy Laundry and her husband, actor Michael St. John Smith.

The Dead Line is Dennis Foon’s light look at death. Cory is using technology to speak to the dead. He seeks answers from his family, his friends and the famous deceased in this quirky comedy from the writer behind The New Canadian Kid and the award-winning screenplay Life Above All.

The Thin Veneer is Kevin Loring’s response to the 2011 Stanley Cup riot. This profoundly beautiful play investigates who we are as Vancouverites. This is Loring’s first play since the Award Winning Where the Blood Mixes.

The cast includes:  The Canada Reads winning author of Something Fierce, Carmen Aguirre, Shaker Paleja, Jennifer Mawhinney and Patrick Keating. Directed by Richard Wolfe.
